As a lifeguard, you must possess the following skills:
• Comfortable in and around open water with basic knowledge of safety considerations
• Able to handle deep water and use watercraft like a surfboard, paddleboard, or kayak
• Pass the lifeguard prerequisite exam, including a 550-meter open water swim and treading water without hands for 2 minutes
• Previous experience working with or teaching children is preferred
• Certification from Red Cross or WSI is a plus, but not required
• Must be at least 18 years old
